Whitewater Slalom

Dear IJCSL Officials and Course Designers,

The USA Canoe/Kayak Slalom Governance Committee is asking for nominations for the International Canoe Federation (ICF) Competition for the 2010 race season. If you are interested in officiating or course designing at any of these races, please submit your preference on the attached excel form and send to Brian Fike no later than December 18, 2009. Please note that you are responsible for your own expenses and have to make your own travel and lodging arrangements.

You will be notified by Brian Fike via email (fike10@comcast.net) and by posting on the ICF and USA Canoe/Kayak websites regarding your nominations in early spring. Once you have been nominated it will be your responsibility to contact the organizing committee to confirm your commitment and to find out the timetable of the event.

As you can see on the calendar/form (on this page) there are 19 ICF Ranking Races, 2 of which are in the United States. Both are in North Carolina, the first on the Nantahala, and the other in Charlotte. Please consider nominating yourself for either of these races to increase your judging portfolio.

The Pan American Championships will be in October in Veracruz, Mexico, and will serve as a test event for the Pan American Games in 2011. The race is in the State of Veracruz in the town of Actopan.
