Brett Finishes 3rd at Foix

On a very hard technical final course at the ICF Canoe Slalom International Race FOIX 2009, Brett Heyl finished 3rd, overall, behind the 2007 World Champion Combot, from France, and Doby Mathew, a French National racing for Belgium. Scott Mann had a 3rd best time, but a 2 sec penalty put him in 5th place.
Other notables:
6 US K-1's (Heyl Brett, Scott Mann, Aaron Mann, Austin Kiefer, Jure Poberaj, Jim Wade) and 3 C-1' s (Benn Fraker, Zach lokken, Tyler Hinton) participated
3 additional K-1 Juniors (Mihal Smollen, Will Farmer, and Nick Wilkening) participated in a separate junior class.
In K-1 Heyl, Scott Mann and Austin Kiefer also made it to the final.
Scott Mann had a 3rd best time, but finished in 5th place.
Kiefer finished 8th.
In C-1 Benn Fraker was a semi-finalist.
