POZNAN, Poland -- On another beautiful day in Poznan, the 200m races began with the most amount of fast times the ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships has ever seen. Brothers Ryan and Patrick Dolan (Kailua, Hawaii) got Team USA off on the right foot, finishing 4th in their heat in the K-2 200m. In the semifinal, the guys raced hard and ended up in fifth place and will compete in the Final C on Sunday, the final day of the event.

In the Men’s K-1 200m, Tim Hornsby (Atlanta, Ga.) finished fourth in his first competition at the 2010 World Championships. Tim faded to ninth in his semifinal. However, Krisztina Zur (Newport Beach, Calif.), wife of U.S. Olympian Rami Zur, finished fourth in her heat and fourth in a very competitive semifinal and will compete in the women’s K-1 200m Final B Sunday.

In a tight race in the women’s C-1 200m heats, Anna Crawford finished third in her heat and will be a Final B competitor Sunday. This event is the first time the event has been competed at the World Championships as a full medal event.

Day Four (Sunday) Preview:

Two-time Olympian Carrie Johnson (San Diego, Calif.) and partner Krisztina Zur will once again hit the water in the K-2 500m B Final.

Zur will compete again later in the afternoon in the K-1 200m B Final, as well. Crawford will be competing in the women’s C-1 200m Final B.

The Dolan brothers will compete in the C Final of the K-2 200m as well in the 200m Relay with teammates Morgan House (Gainesville, Ga.) and Hornsby.
