Morgan House (Gainesville, Ga.) and Ryan and Patrick Dolan (Kailua, Hawaii) kickoff the event in the Men’s K-1 1000 and K-2 1000.
Weather was chilly and rainy today with a side wind, but expect for better weather tomorrow with a slight tailwind.
Sgt. Rob Brown (Moncks Corner, S.C.) will also be racing in the Para-Canoe competition. After a 3rd place performance at the 2009 World Championships, Rob hopes that his hard work and effort will be enough to get him back onto the podium.
“I have been training hard and know that my class has gotten even more competitive than it was in 2009, but I feel confident that I can compete amongst the best,” Brown said.
Rob trains with D. Oborski at the historic Washington Canoe Club.
Morgan House: "I am the fittest and strongest I have ever been leading into the World Championships. All I can do is move the boat as fast as I can from Point A to Point B and that is what I intend to do. The competition here is strong, as expected, and I am excited about racing."
