2010 Sprint Rules Changes #1

Sprint Officials Committee March 19, 2010

The Sprint Governance Committee at its meeting on March 17, 2009 resolved to implement the following changes to the Sprint Rules with effect from 30 days of this posting on the USA Canoe/Kayak website

Rule 40 - Progressions & Plans

Amend 40.1 is amended to read "See Appendix A for examples of progressions and plans".

Rule 62 - Trials Racing Regulations

The current text of Rule 62.4 is deleted and the following text is substituted:

"62.4 The system of progression from EITHER heats to semis and from semis to finals OR from heats directly to finals shall be determined by SGC by April 1 of the year of Trials. If no new system of progression is announced by SGC by April 1 of the year of the Trials, the system of progression of the previous year shall be used".

Appendix A

The title "I. USA Canoe Kayak Progression for Team Trials" is amended by deleting "for Team Trials".

Under the title "II. ICF Progressions" the current text is deleted and the following text is substituted: "Current ICF Progressions can be found in the ICF Canoe Sprint rules at www.canoeicf.com."
