Charlotte, NC, April 2009 – USA Canoe/Kayak announces the 2009 Sprint World Cup Team

The 2009 Sprint Team trials were held April 24th-26th at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, CA. It was a weekend of phenomenal racing and perfect weather.  There were some surprising results on the water.  For some it was a weekend of pure adrenaline and for some heartbreak.  The top performing athletes are now on their way to represent the United States in the World Cup tour throughout Europe.  It was great to see so many Olympians present to support the athletes throughout the weekend.  Thank you to the officials, coaches, volunteers and parents who gave their time, and as always thank you to all of our athletes.  For pictures and timed results please visit usack.org

  • May 8th -10th World Cup Race # 1 located in Racice, CZE
  • May 22nd-May 24th World Cup Race # 2 located in Poznan, PO
  • June 5th-June7th World Cup Race # 3 located in Szgeg, HUN
  • Aug 12-Aug 16th World Championships located in Nova Scotia, CAN
  • August 20th-23rd National Championships located in OOAR in Oakridge Tenn
