Eight Olympic Athletes from Beijing 2008 to Compete in the 2009 ICF Canoe Sprint World Cup in Racice

The 2009 ICF Canoe Sprint World Cup – to be held on 8-10 May in Racice, Czech Republic, is just around the corner. The ICF is anticipating to witness some of the best athletes compete again head-to-head in this thrilling race. Amongst these races will be Olympians from Beijing 2008.
Keep a look-out for Australia’s Ken Wallace who claimed a bronze in the men’s K1 1000m in Beijing. His opponent in Beijing, defending champion, Adam van Koeverden of Canada, who won a gold in the K1 500m and a silver medal in the K1 1000m in the 2007 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships will also be amongst the participants. Belarus’ famous four, Piatrushenka/Abalmasau/Litvinchuk/Makhneru, who won the gold in the men’s K4 1000m has also confirmed their participation in the 2009 ICF Canoe Sprint World Cup. And last but not least among the 8 Beijing Olympic athletes: Andrei Bahdanovich and Alaiksandr Bahdanovich who also took an Olympic gold medal home to Belarus in the men’s C2 1000m.
