2009 marked the 100th anniversary of the Dartmouth Outing Club, the largest college outdoor club in the country. To celebrate this momentous occasion, the venerated Ledyard Canoe Club, one of the DOC's affiliate clubs and an organization steeped in paddling history, organized the first annual Ledyard River Festival. There are many great river festivals throughout the summer and fall, but this event filled a void in New England's paddling season and Ledyard is pleased to play host to what should the second of many festivals to come.
