Looking for a safe and engaging after school activity for your child? Get them started in the exciting sport of kayaking with our after school training designed specifically for youth and teens.
The after school youth/teen kayak program is designed to teach your child the basics of whitewater kayaking in a fun and safe atmosphere. We ensure the progress of our young students with a 3:1 student to instructor ratio.
The program starts with learning the kayak roll, then proceeds to practice and mold your child into a capable, aware and self-sufficient paddler in up to class III whitewater. Additional skills will be taught such as:
- water reading and scouting technique
- group management
- basic rescue
- stroke refinement
Location: Meet at Kayak Check-In on Thursday
Age: 8 - 11 (youth) or 12 - 16 (teens)
Gear Requirements: All gear is provided
