In 2009, we are going to have two regattas at once. The Sprint Race of the LPI will be on Sunday and Monday - July 5 & 6. This will give racers another day break from having raced the Canada Day Regatta, and it will also avoid a conflict with sprint's need to take over the park and the Village's need to run a fabulous 4th of July celebration.
This gives us a great chance to add a Marathon Canoe Race on Saturday, with a 3 loop course around Mirror Lake (10k) and a longer 11 mile race early Sunday morning that starts from Mirror Lake and goes around Lake Placid. Saturday, we'll have a pro C-1 race ($1000 prize money!) open to sprinters, too.
