Simon Ranagan began paddling with Valley Mill Camp at an early age. He has trained with former Olympian Dana Chladek, and currently trains as a member of the Bethesda Center of Excellence with the National Team coach, Silvan Poberaj. Simon is currently a student at the Georgetown Day School in Washington, D.C. Simon was a  member of the 2010 Junior Slalom Team.
